Fill in the grid – what is the role of the host, i.e. what does the host actually have to do; what do you think are the qualities of a good host?

Role of the host
Qualities of a good host
hosts must be alert at all times while a game is going on because they will need to ensure that each contestant follows the rules of the game. If not, they will have to make the call on nullifying a score or stopping the player from participating in the rest of the game. They also have to be quick in spotting contestants who cheat at any point in the game. The ability to think quickly on their feet is an important trait of all game show hosts since there may be interesting interactions with audiences and contestants that will require them to respond in a smart or funny manner

The job of game show hosts does not only take place in front of the camera. In fact, a great deal of the work takes place off-cam. If they have been hired to host a new show

Humour, uncomfortable situations, loss of the game and everything in between should be met with no confrontational humour that can be enjoyed by the contestants and the audiences.

Audience Acknowledgment, the ability to engage the in-studio, and at home watchers so they feel as if they are participating in the game.

Pacing...keep the game and the contestants moving along at a pace that the audience can easily keep up with, yet is not so slow as to invite boredom.

Enthusiasm, be enthusiastic towards the audience and the camera, this shows confidence, you can’t be shy

Charisma, or more specifically empathy, the ability to put people who are nervous in front of cameras and anxious about the game at ease.

Products similar to my Product

Prada candy is very similar to my product, the bottle is very eye catching and the colours are bright and girly especially the hot pink.
also the price is similar to mine however Prada candy is a little bit more expensive
£80 for 100ml
£60 for 50ml

another perfume that is similar to mine is a very popular fragrance. This Jimmy Choo Eau De Perfume is a sensuous and seductive fragrance

An opening note of tiger orchid transforms into a heart of sweet toffee caramel, finished with a sumptuous base of Indonesian patchouli. The richness in this scent is what makes the 2 so similar

also the price is almost exactly the same
£70 for 100ml
£55 for 60ml

the bottle is stunning and extremely eye catching, this scent is worth every penny, the baby pink on the bottle and the box is very similar to the baby pink background on my print advert

Adorér

This is a beautiful scent driven by deliciously tangy raspberry tones, wooden shimmers and voluptuous vanilla notes. Spontaneous, and irresistible, this scent charms everything in its path. the stunning bottle will pull in anyone in one glimpse and makes you instantly fall in love before you even open the lid

this lovely product costs
%50 for 50ml
£70 for 100ml
£90 for 150ml
it may be expensive but it is defiantly worth it, also when you buy this perfume twice you will receive a 20% off any AHudson product (minimum £30)

The target audience is anyone that want but it is mainly targeted at women A-C1 as they have higher class jobs that pay better and because this product is quite expensive people with C2-E jobs may not be able to afford it. when talking about psychographics aspirers and succeeders will specifically targeted because of; firstly the beautiful scent of the perfume will make people more confident in  their every day life making them succeed achieve their goals and all in all make them feel like a better more outgoing secondly aspires because this is a very precious luxury perfume, so this is perfect for anyone that takes pride in the way they look and feel.

The 5 different advertising methods I would use to promote my product would be:

Beauty magazine-
this would be a good way to promote my product to older women because they seem to read newspapers/magazines more than reading things on social media, so this would be a good way to promote so that all my target audience would see it
TV commercial-
A lot of people watch tv and most people pay attention when a eye catching commercial lights up on tv his would also be good for males that are looking for a present as they wouldn't read beauty magazines
 Billboards-
when people drive past they usually take notice of the billboards, especially passengers, and I think the bring colours would defiantly catch people attention
 Social media-
a lot of the younger generation spend a lot of their time on social media so I think this would be the best way to promote my product

Pathos

Pathos adverts are depicts an appeal to sympathy

This gives the audience sympathy for the child and gives you a tone of being sad because it shows the emotion the child is going through and how he is suffering. also the quote 'your words have power use them wisely' makes the audience maybe re think about hurtful things that maybe hurt someone, it does this through emotive language. the choice of language can effect the consumers emotions either positive or negative.

Ethos

influenced by character of the author

this advert is an example of a ethos advertisement it has a picture of Jennifer Aniston of it advertising 'smart water' this convinces the buyer hat if they buy the water they can be like her as she is known for looking younger than she really is

logos

it is a appeal to logic and a way of persuading an audience by a reason

Specsavers: 'rollercoaster' campaign

this is an example of an logos advert, the quote that is across the screen persuades the audience that their brand is better than any others and by buying their product you will do the right things.

John Lewis Christmas 2015 Advert

Man on the Moon’ features the story of a girl called Lily who spends much of her time staring through a telescope. In the run up to Christmas, she spots an old man, wearing scruffy clothes and living alone in a little shed on the moon. She tries to contact the man, by waving, firing messages via an arrow. With no joy towards the end the man receives a parcel with balloons attached to it sent
from lily so that he can see her.

Brand values-

quality, department store

Camera shot type-

in the first scene there is a close up shot of the little girls face it then goes into a establishing shot showing the audience the location. I think the close up at the beginning is very effective because we instantly know who the main character is this gives the audience a much more understanding and clearer view throughout the rest of the advert. though out the advert long shots are used to give us a more focused view on the settings

Diegetic sounds-

There is not many diegetic sounds during the advert however in the scene where they are having a party the music lyrics stop and you can hear laughing from the children this sets a enthusiastic mood

Non diegetic sounds-

As soon as the advert starts it plays a song over the top of the video. the song played is half the world away it is a very nice song that fits perfectly with the video and the songs lyrics reflets on the video. in one scene the lyrics go and its just instrumental then after the chorus starts again

 Lighting-

The lighting starts of quite dark when the little girl is looking out the window in her room but then it gets lighter as we go on in the advert especially when she goes into the living room and the Christmas tree lights sets the Christmas mood, this creates a happy mood for the audience.

Costume-

The people are all just wearing normal casual every clothes, however in one scene everyone is dressed up very brightly some with tinsel around their neck this is very effective because it sets the Christmas mood

Props-

The main prop that is used over and over is the telescope that the girl looks through in almost every scene, there are also many other props such as a Christmas tree, the bench that the man sits on
I think that the use of the telescope being repeated is very effective as this gives us a wider image of the story
